Languages

How do humans communicate with each other? We use language!!! Whether it's verbal or physical language we all use it. Language however has been developed due to the geography of the area in which the inhabitants live in.

Let's start off with the uniquely amazing language of the Gomeran people of La Gomero, in the Canary islands. Here in this small island of La Gomero the language here is nothing like you've ever heard. Due to the topography of this island the locals have developed a language of whistling!!! La Gomero is known for having deep, long ravines and narrow canyons and so if the locals needed to contact each other their voices couldn't reach the distance needed, so they learned how to communicate using whistles (Silbo Gomero). Thanks to La Gomero's harsh topography this truly unique language has occurred.
